After the sale of Evergreen, Asean Lady takes the top spot. Apart from her size, Asean Lady is also unique for her shape. She is the only yacht in the world whose design is based on a proa, an outrigger canoe used for centuries in the South Pacific. Her configuration provides a huge deck space and, because of the efficiency of her proa-inspired hull, she powers along on only a single 2000hp engine. Singaporean tycoon Brian Chang owns Asean Lady and had her built in his Yantai Raffles shipyard. Able to cruise at 15 knots, her stability was put to the test in December 2004 when, while anchored off Phuket, she survived the tsunami unscathed.
